As part of a larger body of work titled Sector Snapshot (see work's artist statement), Case Study is installed in a disused public swimming pool in Dublin's inner city. The installation is joined by other works in the group exhibition Art in the Life World, which questions the autonomy of the artist. Toward that end, the work considers a leading commercial art gallery based in London, the White Cube, and subjects its portfolio of artists to the “growth/rank matrix” – a popular analytical framework once employed by leading consulting firms in the States to assess the balance of a company’s brands or business units.
